Frequently Asked Questions - FAQs

Do you research companies that used to be in Muskegon years ago?

Yes, researching a company or business takes the same methods as finding out about people - the only difference is the subject matter.

I'm trying to find my birthmother. Can you help with that?

Partially. I can tell you how to get started and where and how to begin your search. But I will not search for her or serve as a "go-between" Usually, the adoption agency will serve as the go-between to make sure that both parties are agreeable to a reunion.

How do I know that you will find the information that I'm looking for?

After you tell me specifically what you hope to find and give me as much background history as you know, I make a preliminary search, at no charge to you. If I am quite certain I can find some information about your ancestor or subject, I may take your case - however, I can't guarantee that I will find exactly what you are looking for because it may not exist. If I don't find anything during my preliminary search, I won't take your case.

What does that W3C yellow and white logo at the very bottom of the left columns mean?

Valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional

It means that I have worked hard to make my web site meet the highest standards of web design, as decreed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). It's sort of like getting a 100% score during an inspection by very picky inspectors (smiles).

You might infer that I would take the same care with your genealogy investigations and my "Census 1950-1930 Tip Sheet" or other booklets, too.
